Have you heard of a costal town called Alibaug? If you have not then you must know it is located about 120 kms south of Mumbai. It is one of those place which gives you Goan vibes but on the other hand it’s not Goa at all. We stayed at U Tropicana Resort and I must say that now for me Alibaug resonates with the name of this resort.
It is one of those luxury resorts that offers all the basic amenities and moreover their hospitable staff takes care of your every need. U Tropicana Resort, is one of those tropical resorts where you will find coconut trees and fresh coconut water too, with lush green surroundings and some costal delicacies too. If you have not checked my VLOG yet? You must !
To take you to the starting point our Journey, we landed at Mumbai Airport and it took us around 3.5 hours to reach Alibaug via road. When we entered U Tropicana Resort, the first thing that was served to us was coconut water and well, it tasted so different and good. Then we headed to our rooms ( they have in total of 32 deluxe rooms) where they even helped us choose our bath soap as per our liking. Our room was luckily pool facing and probably because of the monsoon season there were quite few flies trying to get in the moment I used to open the glass doors. 😛
Then we headed to lunch to their terrace restaurant and you know sometimes you feel good when you find local cuisine instead of all the continental food you have been gauging over elsewhere. We tried this (vada) something similar to Puri but the taste was all together on different level. We totally loved each bite of it.
We were already so tired with the day’s journey that a spa therapy was all that I could think of, and I hope you have read about my spa treatment at U Tropicana Resort yet? If not you must check it out! With the monsoon at it’s peak we were lucky to rejuvenate in the lush green environment of Alibaug and the resort. Moreover the sweet people at U Tropicana Resort arranged for a candle night dinner in this cute canopy and when there is live barbecue and soft breeze with a hint of drizzle, everything looks perfect.
From activities ranging to cycling, snooker, hammock and other fun activities, we felt that this is one of those family resorts where you spend your weekends without the hustle bustle of a city life. Not only that, the good people at U Tropicana Resort also arranged for a quick – tiring – great trek to Kanakeshwar Temple. So you have to climb 750 huge steep steps to reach here and well, sometimes it’s not about the destination but the journey and situation here was the same.
Overall, we loved our stay here, it’s a perfect getaway for Mumbai and Pune people. Even if I say that the food may not be 10/10 but the overall experience covers for it. So if you are heading to U Tropicana Resort, do tag us in your pictures and we will repost the best ones. : )
