It’s not daily that you wake up in the morning with birds chirping and soft hushes of wind crossing. A beautiful handwritten note and a pool just at your disposal. Such was our morning joy at Ibnii Coorg. Nested along the dew drenched slopes of a former coffee plantation, The IBNII is poised to be one of the resorts in the luxury segment. With a driving distance of about 5.5 hours from Bangalore Airport, The Ibnii Coorg is a perfect getaway from the urban milieu.
With 22 private pool villas and 10 wooden cottages, The Ibnii Coorg is a vast property that is stretched over 123 acres. The Ibnii Coorg gives you one of those experiences where your higher expectations are met when it comes to dining, leisure and luxury but yet at the same time it also maintain a delicate balance with nature.
We had an option to choose between Pool Villas and Wooden Cottages and well we were so bewitched by the beauty of both that we just could not choose one. Hence, we decided to start with Pool Villas. If you ask for our honest opinion then I must tell you that it’s one of those villas that are perfect for your Honeymoon and believe me once you step on the poach, you will realise why am I saying so!
From in-room Jacuzzi to luxury bathroom, to your very own coffee table and not to forget your private pool with a view, you can find all of this in your eco-luxe villas. As the property is focused on maintaining a balance between nature and luxury, any kind of plastics are strictly not allowed and moreover I found this strange but thoughtful that you cannot avail the option of in-room dining here. Primarily because they want to focus on privacy of their guest and secondary it’s a huge property and you would not really want to hog on to some previously delicious but now cold food.
I love how systematic and natural is the process at The Ibnii Coorg. Your private pools are automatically cleansed every morning with an inbuilt jet! When it comes to in-room facilities, they have taken care of everything from smallest to the biggest. They have an option for their guests to call for an battery operated Golf Car to take you through the property but well as per my personal experience, I would say it’s better to experience it on foot, it may take you double the time and effort but at the end it’s totally worth it.
Other than your personal luxury, one can also enjoy the extravagant beauty of the nature that The Ibnii offers. Take an evening stroll with their plantation expert to hear the humble origins of the world’s most beloved beverage. Indulge in the pleasure of creating your own brew starting from the bean to the infusion in your cup besides sneaking a peek at a planter’s life the Kodavas are privileged with. A walk to the Coffee Escapade also known as Kaldi Kappee is pure bliss. Though as it’s in the lap of nature, this Coffee Shop closes at 6 pm because of the surrounding insects and reptiles.
When it comes to dining, I won’t exaggerate but I completely fell in love with the food they serve. Be it any cuisine, each and everything is mouth savouring. We had Breakfast at The Fig: Multicuisine Restaurant, Lunch at Baalelle, Drinks and Dinner at Elevate Lounge and Masi Kande- The BBQ Place.
When you step in The Fig, you will see make your own salad table and believe me guys when I will say, you won’t find fresh and green vegetables elsewhere like here, the food is lip smacking and there is not one single food item that I can say was superb as everything we tried from the buffet was totally worth it. Other than that, where else would you find resplendent view of a serene water body and bustling nature all around? When it comes to Baalelle, (meaning Banana leaf in Kodava language), you will fall in love with the gastronome of veggies, savor from an eclectic choice of regional curries and main courses made from vegetables freshly plucked off from local garden.
Other than that, Elevate Lounge has as superb bartender and he made us some great cocktails which you must check it out and not the best thing is that this lounge leads to a patio which has be my favourite place of all. <3 When it comes to Masi Kande, you can have one of the most romantic dinner here with your loved one and well the Barbeque is to die for!
The whole experience all together was one of a kind and to read all about our spa experience, please head here. J
