I have travelled through deserts, I have went to beaches, I have traveled everywhere my wandering soul takes me. But this time after a long train journey from Delhi with Indian Railways (even though it was Shatabdi) it almost took us 4.5 hours to reach Chandigarh. From Chandigarh to Kufri our first stop was Timber Trail to satiate our stomachs with some scrumptious food. Though now I strongly recommend, that if you are planning to go to Kufri, go by ROAD. After Timber Trail it almost took us 5 hours or more to reach Royal Tulip Kufri. To be honest it just takes around 3.5 hours but our driver preferred to take the longest route. :/
When we arrived at Royal Tulip Kufri, we were welcomed with a warm hospitality and a refreshing drink. (Will be uploading a VLOG soon, you can have a look there :)). The cordial lady from the managing department, Umang showed us our rooms on the second floor. Royal Tulip Kufri being an year old had a whiff of newness. You can feel the crisp vibe of a neat and well furnished property.
The moment I entered our room, I went straight to our balcony that was breathtakingly vast. The chill in the air made me adorn all the warm clothes I had packed. As the night settled in and we cozied up in our soft cushioned bed, we ordered for in-room dining and we were served with hot and satisfying platters.

Best mornings are when you are served with Breakfast in Bed, isn’t it? My favourite breakfast staple when I am on a holiday is always American Breakfast. We sat in the balcony and the mesmerising view of mountains and soft cool breeze just made our morning. That day we planned to explore Chail, and well, in my personal opinion it’s not a place worth exploring if you haven’t already been to the Chail Palace, (I have been there thrice). Nonetheless we enjoyed our journey because of the lovely weather and the best company that kept me entertained for 1.5 hrs.
What I loved about Royal Tulip Kufri was that the property was spacious. From wherever you take an exit, you can find an open breathing space. Not only our personal balcony was so vast but even when you move towards lobby, it’s huge and puts a smile on your face because of the breathtaking view. We totally loved to sip on our coffee and munch on some yummy snacks while we sit on the couches engulfing the view.
Also, when you are at Royal Tulip Kufri don’t forget to taste their appetizers , Himachali Cuisines and anything or everything that involves Chana (chick pea), taste it and you can thank me later. 😛
Nonetheless the terrace was huge and one can surely organise a get together at their Peek, a roof top cafe where under the stars and the light of the moon, with the warmth of bonfire, accompanied with wine and tandoori snacks and not to forget the bewitching view of Kufri Valley, you can relax and unwind yourself.
Royal Tulip Kufri also have heated in-door swimming pool and play area for kids and young ones. Not to forget they also have Samaaya Spa that have awe-inspiring view from their treatment rooms but to know more about it you have to stay tuned. J
The next day we went Shimla after driving for around 1 hour or so and well, it was a total delight. Though being a weekend it was over crowded but we got really good bargains on warm hats and ear muffs. If you are there don’t forget to eat kulcha pockets sold by street vendors, it’s totally worth it.
PS: When you are staying there don’t forget to ask them to arrange for a hot water bath for you, it can totally rejuvenate your senses.
