If you have been following our travel series by now then you would have probably seen our last two travel blogs that were all about where did we spend our first two and last two nights in Goa. Also, we did drop by Ibis Styles Goa Calangute in the middle of our Goa travel series but well, that was not it. Due to our tight schedule, we only got to stay here for one night and though we were not able to explore much but what did bid us adieu was a sweet happy memory.
Ibis Styles Goa Calangute may not be a luxury property like what we have reviewed before but it is India’s first ibis Styles an in-demand economy brand from the Accor Hotels stable, representing a fresh, vivacious and modern concept.
To add some more information, what is shown in the above picture is just one wing of the hotel, though it is two of them and I must say we were astonished to see how huge the property was. With colourful and inspiring elements, the hotel serves as a perfect holiday destination be it a family trip, a retreat or a pleasant getaway though only if you are looking for a budget stay and don’t want to indulge in luxury.
When it comes to the staff, they are quite courteous and the some of the few things that did catch our attention were the trendy and modern design of the hotel. I would not say it is something that bespoke of luxury but it surely creates a lively atmosphere around because of the plethora of vibrant hues incorporated in the design and architecture.
Ibis Styles also features surprise daily rituals and distinct innovative markers, for example a finger-print mood test for guests on arrival, a complimentary gift for kids and many other things.
When it comes to relax and chill, we were delighted to know that Ibis Styles Goa Calangute have three pools, though sadly one of them was under maintenance when we were present there but who said that you have to dip in all of the three pools to enjoy your vacation? 😉
Also we got a chance to dine in at Spice It where the menu encompasses a choice of innovative dishes at its live cooking stations, as well as exciting à la carte options including North Indian, South Indian, global and local specialties.
We loved the Indian Cuisine there as to be honest from past 5 days we were tired of trying all the cuisines sans Indian and having Idli Sambar and North Indian was a pure delight.
To give you a summary, Ibis Styles Goa Calangute is one of those properties where you can come and stay if you have a huge group and are not looking to spend on luxury but on a comfortable stay and food that suits all taste buds.
When it comes to the rooms, they were apt for a single person or a couple, being an economy brand, even though the room cannot be categorised as luxury but they had a cozy feel attached to it. Somewhere you can stay for quite a long time if you are on a work tour or if you are a frequent traveller. A kind of room that keeps you focused on your work than elsewhere. Also they have a small balcony to inhale fresh air and stalk everyone in the pool. 😉
Lastly, even though Ibis Styles Goa Calangute may not be a beach property but it’s literally 15 minutes away on foot from Tivai Beach in Calangute and as it’s not a well known beach you would still find peace here.
