I am thrilled to announce that we are officially covering the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016. I hope you read my last blog regarding the major announcements for AIFW in association with Maybelline New York and as we promised, we are going to delight you with the best of shows, each day. Well, it does not simply mean that we did not like a particular designer, as we believe that a lot of effort is put in to make a show successful and thus each person of the faculty deserves applause.
To start with, the opening show of Varun Bahl Fall 2016 collection called Nocturne is around a fashion conscious woman who decides to give into her love for bohemia with abandon and she picks up random motifs like ostriches, nocturnal birds to re create her fantasy land. Though the collection was a bit turn off but what I loved were the embroidered jackets and the gown that you can see in the picture below.
Our heart struck at Hemant & Nandita and Shantanu & Nikhil’s show. They both were very contrasting to each other but what the each one showcased was exquisite and opulently elegant. Hemant & Nandita AW 16/17 collection was about deep midnight blues, earthy browns, deep reds and charcoal greys with a splash of gold, copper, bronze and a lot of jewel tones incorporated in the form of embroideries. The generous amount of layering took her heart and the modern vintage look of the ensemble was mesmerising.
To the contrary Shantanu & Nikhil AW 16 was about The Dark Enchantress who took The Last Walk in the calmness of beiges, fiercest red and a wannest grey to her rehearsed fate through the rustling leaves of yesteryear. The collection was mystical and we loved the folds, the pleats and the drapes on each of the outfit. The fall and the lace used were heart throbbing. You can find below some of the pieces we heart.
For Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta, we loved the fabrics used as we are die hard fan of raw silks and silks but the classiest part was the footwear that the models adorned.
Stay tuned as we take you through to yet another day of fashion insaneness.
