When we visit a place and vibe with it on the level that you can stay there for longer than you think, then you have hit the bull’s eye. Such resorts are quite less in India, where your main agenda is not to rock and music but the ambience itself bespoke of relaxation, rejuvenation and peace. Such went our last two day’s of our Goa Travel Series, what happened in between, will be live this weekend. J Alila Diwa, located at Majorda Goa is one of the properties where you can spend a week without stress or creases on your forehead. Tell them what are you expecting from the stay and their special Diwa by Design and Leisure Concierge team will create a whole package for you and what do you need to do in return is lay back with a remote in your hand while your necessities are well taken care of. Such is the luxury of Alila Hotels. <3 From the structural design to the comfort and to the taste buds, Alila Diwa Goa plans to satiate you on every level, well believe me when I say that whatever I am saying is purely based out of true experience! 🙂
Though the most convenient thing about Alila Diwa Goa is that it is 20 minutes away from the Goa Dabolim International Airport, well when you are in Goa, you would second me when I say that you don’t want to leave the place, you want to make it worth it till the end and when your resort is just 20 minutes away, I don’t think you would need anything more than that. Though, as it’s in South Goa and if your heart lies in North Goa, this is surely won’t be a good option until and unless, this time you are planning to explore South. J Top : Vasl
When you enter Alila Diwa Goa, you notice how extremely huge the resort is, with lush green plants and paddy fields surrounded all over. Wherever your eyes can wander, you just see the beauty that is well in sync with the thoughtful architecture. Also if you are a person of specific taste and interest then you can stay at the Diwa Club ie. a resort within a resort, which has it’s own swimming pool that is different from main large infinity pool and also it have it’s own dining cafe, so that you don’t have to travel a long way in the resort to go to another dining area. Alila Diwa Goa not only has an infinity pool over looking the paddy fields but it also has it’s very own walk in tree house where you can probably click cute pictures and enjoy a cup of coffee with your loved ones while overlooking the full resort.
By now, some of you may be wondering from the start that is this a beach resort? Well no, it’s not but it’s in proximity of the Gonsua Beach, Majorda and the resort has to and fro shuttle service for the same. Though it’s in walking distance from the resort, so you can have a 15-20 minutes brisk walk in the morning to taste the salt and morning breeze. Even the Colva beach is 10 minutes away via car. Thus, the best thing is that Alila Diwa Goa is quite central to many popular South Goa beaches, so head start guys!
Also, when it comes to in room luxury, the cozy bed and the spacious bathroom at Alila Diwa Goa is incomparable. Moreover when you have a private balcony, you don’t really want to leave the vicinity of it. What I also loved were the bath essentials at Alila Diwa Goa, when you have a hand made rosemary hand soap, you know that every touch of the whole experience bespoke of personal curation and luxury. PS: I have a thing for bathtubs and we had one huge one in our room <3 and when I say bath essentials now all I can think is of the relaxing Ayurvedic spa treatment we had, details of which will be soon in the next blog.
Now shall we jump to the scrumptious food we had during our stay at Alila Diwa Goa? Have you all heard of Martin’s Corner, well we did hear about it a lot and it is like literally 15 minutes away from the resort but let’s not forget that Alila Diwa Goa has award-winning restaurants & bar ie. Spice Studio (Signature Indian restaurant), Vivo (All-day Dining restaurant), Bistro (Med restaurant) & Edge Bar & Lounge. Due to shortage of time, we had to skip our planned dinner at Spice Studio where we also had a master class with the head Chef Edia Cota, preparing the freshly picked Fish from the morning market (Yes, we actually went to Fish Market to pick the freshest of fish of our choice) but as I am a vegetarian we planned onto go for a veg master class but any which way the time restraint made us miss that. :/ As mentioned earlier too, Alila Diwa is well known for creating specialised experiences for their guests and the Chaat session held every evening at Bistro and Vivo is everything a personal touch can be, they serve some mouthwatering Bhel, Dahi Puri and cutting chai and yes, this was one of my favourite experience too.
PS: I will give it to them that in terms of staff they surely the most courteous ones.
We also got a chance to indulge in luxury dining at Bistro which is a fine dining restaurant in the Diwa wing over looking the pool and what was served on the platter were some tasteful Bruschetta’s, Mushroom Risotto, Cheese and Spinach filled Ravioli and some complimentary tasty house made breads. If you have Indian taste buds you may not like the taste of it, as comparatively the flavour was quite bland. Though in comparison, we quite liked our breakfast and dinner at Vivo, though we generally opted for buffet.
Lastly and the best of all was the breakfast served at Bistro. We ordered for blueberry crepes and cheese masala omelette and I totally loved what was served and these are some of the few things that would make me turn back and visit Alila Diwa Goa all over again.
PS: Did you check our last travel blog yet? It was all about the first two days we spent in Goa, if not, you can check it here.
